President of the AAI Supports ISD-MOBE School

Once upon a time I escorted the very important personality from West Virginia USA sir Albert Santoli when, he visited some school in the province of Sulu especially the MOBE school of AAI. In his three days visit in the province, he saw the importance of his support to the school. Then, he decided to increase the number of schools adopted by the Asia America Initiative.  Alhamdulilla, the schools in the ISD were now the MOBE school of AAI.

In the previews two consecutive school years, AAI funded 50 % for the mass feeding program of Poblacion Elementary School. Our school also received assistance in terms of money and other materials related to health and education. On the month of October 2017 AAI provided us sports equipment for some sports event like in athletics, basketball table tennis and others. These sport materials helped minimize absences of the learners in the afternoon session and increase the number of participant in the District Athletic Association Meet.

On December 2017 I was informed by the two school heads of Barangay Langpas regarding the funds sent by the AAI for the big lunch. Poblacion Elementary School decided to donate it share to the most affected pupils of Mukammali ES and Langpas ES.

This January 2018, Sir Albert sent us 3,000 pesos for 2 days mass feeding of 370 pupils of the above mentioned school. We used 50/50 partnership pattern for our feeding activities so that it will be implemented smoothly without any disturbances to our teachers and pupils. The school PTA officers cooked the viands and the pupils bring their own rice.

TAKING CARE OF THEM

When I looked and visited every classroom, I found one of our pupils who were not in a good condition. I started asking question about what she feels. I comforted her with some funny words but still her not replying of what I expected. I decided to bring her to their parents a kilometer away from our school. I asked her sister in the grade 5A to escort her while we were riding a motor cycle.

On our way to her house there were people asking what happened. I replied she was not feeling well. I was curious about the reasons why this young girl suffered from this pain. I asked another question, did you take your breakfast? She did not reply, therefore I concluded that she did not take her breakfast. Hunger was the factor of her condition.

Actually, we were a recipient of the School –Based Feeding Program 2017 but until today the funds for that program not yet downloaded. School Feeding Program was very much helpful to our school children especially those who come from the poor families. There was a times, our school children were no longer responsive because of what they feel. When our pupils were hungry precisely they cannot concentrate to participate to every school activities.

I was inspired to say that we should not be the factor of someone sufferings, instead we should be the one to push their life to the place of happiness.
